As an N.U.in Germany student, you will reside in CIEE Berlin (G27), which is also CIEE’s academic campus in Berlin. G27 houses a residence hall with a mix of CIEE study abroad students and staff, as well as N.U.in staff who can help you adjust to life in Berlin and assist in providing a safe, comfortable living environment.
You will live in either a double, triple, or quad room with en-suite bathrooms and shower facilities. You will have access to shared kitchens in the residence halls to prepare your own meals. You can purchase coffee, tea, soft drinks, and snacks at the on-site café, or explore the myriad restaurants and cafés in the Kreuzberg neighborhood. The building has a central lobby including a front desk offering mail service and general assistance, controlled access to the residence with electronic keys, and on-site security staff in the evening hours.
Amenities: Bed linens, comforters, pillows, basic cooking utensils (pots, pans, dishes, silverware, cups, and glasses) and cleaning supplies will be provided, but you are expected to provide your own towels.
Common Areas: The residence hall has a co-working space, quiet study areas and two computers available for use 24/7. Each floor has a student lounge with a large TV.
Meals: As an N.U.in student, you will add cooking to your repertoire! At N.U.in Germany, accommodations are all equipped with kitchenettes, as meal plans are not a part of university life there. You’ll also have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the local culture, exploring nearby grocery stores, international food markets, cafes, and more with your peers.
Laundry: Laundry facilities are located in the building for you to use. You can pay for laundry with your credit and debit card as well as contactless payment on your cell phone.
Mail: Students can have mail sent directly to CIEE Berlin (G27). Students will receive the hotel address and instructions on how to label mail during on-site orientation. Hotel staff will hold mail at reception for students to pick up at their convenience. We advise students to avoid sending packages directly to CIEE as they are likely to get stuck in Customs, students will receive advice about sending packages during on-site orientation.
Fitness: CIEE partners with a gym about a 10-minute walk from campus that allows students to sign-up for a three month membership with no contract. You will visit this gym as part of orientation week to receive more information and get help signing up.
