Estimated Cost of Attendance

For the Fall 2023 semester, the estimated program cost for all N.U.in Program locations was $40,741 (USD). This cost included $30,650 for tuition and a $10,091 program fee. Please note that this program fee was an estimate that is subject to Board of Trustee approval.  The program fee inclusions are detailed in the chart below.

In Spring, you will pay Northeastern tuition.

Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 estimated cost of attendance will be posted to the Student Financial Services website later this year.

Program Fee Inclusions

The N.U.in Program fee inclusions are subject to change for Fall 2024:

Inclusions Exclusions
  • Tuition
  • Housing
  • Dedicated 24/7 support staff
  • Group flight fare & coordination
  • N.U.in Pre-departure Orientation
  • On-location Orientation
  • Visa fees
  • Passport fees
  • Independent travel expenses
  • Some medical expenses
  • Textbooks
  • Cell phone
  • Meals (except Greece, Spain, and Czech Republic)

Every N.U.in student has different requirements for monthly budgets. This is in part due to the difference in the cost of living expenses across locations, and in part due to the wants and needs of each student. The following information is provided as a general guide, and more specific budgeting tips will be shared during pre-departure orientation.

We recommend students have access to personal funds during the semester for expenses not covered by the program fee (see above). Housing options vary by site and actual budgets for meals can vary widely by housing type.

Enrollment Deposits

The first step you must take to reserve a place in The N.U.in Program is to submit your nonrefundable enrollment deposits.

First deposit: $1,200

Second deposit: $2,500

Visit your Application Status Check for payment deadlines and to submit your deposits. For details on how to make your deposits and set up your myNortheastern student portal, please see the Enrollment Information page of our website.

Financial Aid Eligibility

While enrolled in the fall semester of The N.U.in Program, students who apply for financial aid are considered for need-based funding and merit funding. As N.U.in students are pre-matriculated, grants, loans, and work awards from federal and state sources cannot be applied to the fall semester while you are actively participating in The N.U.in Program. If you qualify, you can use these financial options beginning with the spring semester. All supplemental loans, including the Federal Direct Parent PLUS Loan, are available to students and parents beginning in the spring semester as well.
