Fall 2024 Admitted Student Resources

Prepare to Embark

Congratulations to students recently admitted to The N.U.in Program at Northeastern University!

This program offers you the opportunity to study abroad in your first semester alongside a cohort of other Northeastern first-year students and return to Boston in January 2025 for the spring semester.

N.U.in allows you to explore new ideas and places while growing as a global citizen. No matter where you study during the program, you will be welcomed back to Boston as a bold, independent, and reflective individual who is prepared to take on the next adventure.

Here are the next steps you need to take to enroll at Northeastern and embark on your N.U.in journey.

Submitting Your Deposit

Your enrollment into The N.U.in Program requires two deposits. To view upcoming deadlines and submit your enrollment deposit(s), please visit your Application Status Check. Please keep in mind that you need to submit your first deposit to select your N.U.in site location, which are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Site Location Selection

Students participating in The N.U.in Program study at one of our partner institutions around the world. You will be able to choose from a list of compatible site locations. Your eligibility to choose a particular site will be determined based on your major, age, citizenship, and other factors.

Site location selection will launch in February. We will provide additional information regarding each location, compatibility, and the selection process via email prior to selection becoming available. Your final list of available site locations based on your eligibility will be displayed in your Application Status Check when the selection process begins.

Admitted Student Events

Connect with the Northeastern community and have your questions answered through admitted student events. Hosted by faculty, staff, and current students from across the university—including the Global Experience Office and N.U.in Program—these events provide an in-depth look at life as a Northeastern student. Keep an eye on your Application Status Check and inbox for updates on upcoming events.

Preparing for Travel

N.U.in students have the unique opportunity to experience global travel during their first semester of college. To ensure a smooth travel process during the program, we encourage students and families to begin preparing as early as possible. Here are a few suggestions:

Check Your Passport – Make sure your passport is up-to-date and won’t expire until after June 2025 (or preferably later).

Consider Your Accommodations – Put together supporting documentation for any accommodations you need to thrive at school. The Disability Resource Center is excited to connect with you to support you in your Northeastern experience. For more information see https://drc.sites.northeastern.edu/.

Practice Your Cooking – Most universities outside of the U.S. don’t offer traditional dining halls, but some N.U.in housing includes a kitchen facility.
