As an N.U.in Portugal student, you will reside in Xior Campo Pequeno residence hall which is within a 20-minute commute from the CIEE Lisbon campus. The residence hall is conveniently located near public transportation and offers easy access to a large variety of restaurants, cafes, shops, and grocery stores. Students are welcome to share common areas at the residence hall. All facilities are wheelchair accessible. All students are required to live in N.U.in program housing for the duration of the program.

Amenities: All students are placed in single rooms with private bathrooms and kitchenettes. Each student will receive one set of linens which includes: a pillow, pillow case, sheet set, duvet, duvet cover, 1 hand towel and 1 bath towel. Each student is also provided a kitchen kit that has basic cookware (saucepan, skillet, etc), cutlery, and tableware. The housekeeping team comes once a week to clean the kitchen area, surfaces, and the bathroom, and they also change the linens that have been furnished by the dormitory. Students are responsible for washing their own dishes, clearing spaces of clutter before the housekeeping team cleans, and taking out the trash. Students are responsible for keeping their living spaces clean and tidy.

Common Areas: Study areas and common areas are available throughout the University and the residence halls for student use. In Xior, there is a large common area on the basement level, an outside Courtyard, cinema room, private kitchen and dining room (that can be reserved), and a private study room. Check out the Xior website to see what these areas look like.

Meals: As an N.U.in student, you will add cooking to your repertoire! At N.U.in Portugal, accommodations are all equipped with kitchenettes, as meal plans are not a part of university life there. You’ll also have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the local culture, exploring nearby grocery stores, international food markets, cafes, and more with your peers.

Laundry: On-site laundry facilities are available in the building for use.

Mail: All mail should be sent to students at their accommodations after arrival. The front desk will hold any packages for students for pickup.

Fitness: N.U.in Portugal students can access a small on-site gym with weights and cardio equipment as well as yoga room at their accommodations. Students wishing for more specialized equipment and/or classes can choose to join one of the many local gyms nearby.
